Michigan quarterback Alex Orji informed ESPN’s Pete Thamel that he will enter the transfer portal.
Orji started three games for the Wolverines this season, sharing playing time with Davis Warren and Jack Tuttle. He completed 52.3% of his passes, throwing for 148 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. On the ground, Orji rushed for 260 yards and one touchdown, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
The Wolverines have secured Bryce Underwood, the nation’s top quarterback recruit, for next season. Underwood, who recently flipped his commitment from LSU, adds significant competition to Michigan’s quarterback room.
Orji still has two years of eligibility remaining.
